Yuletide 2022

bramblesandramblesMy Interests have not changed, but my prompts have! I'm PineapplePrincess on AO3, and treating should be enabled. I'm open to any content at all from any attendant Yuletide challenges, but am signing up for Yuleporn and Wrapping Paper this year!
Calamity Jane (1953)
This movie has all the femmselash and it's a wonderful nostalgic treat for me in general. I want all of the Katie and all of the Calam and all of them being together for this one.
Otherwise, some good old-fashioned Calam and Katie (or Calam/Katie) would make me happy. Or character studies of Calam and Katie in their youths, or as old-salt types in their 80s still living in Deadwood. A modern AU would be fun too!
Bloom County
I'm really excited about the fact that this artifact from my childhood is about to get an animated series, so I'm warming up for it by requesting some fic about the comic strip itself!
I'd prefer an ensemble piece of some sort featuring all four characters, but if you're pulled toward a story centered on Opus, Binley, Steve or Cutter John I won't be upset. Also if you crackship Cutter John/Steve Dallas I will not tell you no. I really love the strip's take on big, epic holiday-centered quests, so anything that feels like that would be fun - but if you don't want to go Christmas-centric and would rather write about summertime adventures or autumn's renewing powers, I'd love to read it.
I'd really like to see Binkley's take on modern gossip; how does he deal with the 24 hour news cycle, TCM, etc? Has his adulthood turned out the way his future self suggested it would, or is it different?
Steve Dallas as the World's Most Terrible Ambulance Chaser (has he tried to sue AMC for ripping him off through Saul Goodman yet?), except when he's miraculously brilliant and saves his own bacon. He's really in love this time but no one believes him. Or maybe he's finally stumbled on a brilliant way to get rich and someone needs to stop him because it's really a horrible idea.
Cutter John was actually brought to town to be a doctor, and I can see him conferring with Opus over some sort of mild malady. I'd like to see him out there having a vibrant life and being as witty as always!
As for Opus, anything from him going on a date to dealing with embarrassing resurgent fame when someone on the internet rediscovers Billy and the Boingers would be lovely.
The strip is reproduced and archived daily at Go Comics. You can also check out the archive for the stip's revival, which has temporarily been stalled while BB works on the animated series with Fox.
The Clock (1945)
This is the simple, lovely tale of an office worker who meets a soldier on leave in New York, they fall in love, and then they get married in 48 hours. But what comes after? I desperately want to know how Joe and Alice figure out how their romance works post-War. Do they argue about where they'll live? Are there children? Is there wedded bliss or do rough spots arise? Does Alice give up working? Does the war change him? Missing scenes would be fun. I want to know what his friends and more of her friends think of the situation.
If you want to just write about Joe or Alice, I'd love to see Alice's workaday life before she met Joe, or have her solve a mystery. What does Joe tell his army buddies or friends back home? My only caveat is that I'd rather not Joe die in this one.

A Muppet Family Christmas (1987)
This has been my favorite Christmas special since I was a very little girl, and I watch the unexpunged version every year. Nearly every single part of Jim Henson's legacy becomes involved, and that in of itself is touching.
Some ensemble pieces would be great; I want to know what Christmas morning looks like! What other presents have yet to be opened? What do wheat germ and cranberry sauce dinner leftovers even look like?
I need to know further details about Piggy's long journey from her photo shoot to Emily's farm. Have her encounter Emily later, or have a conversation with Doc; does she meet up with any of the characters she meets during the celebration later on, and what do they think of each other?
Emily Bear backstory, please! I need to know everything about what she was like when she (and Fozzie!) were younger. I want to watch her engineering this whole holiday and dealing with a house that is jam-packed with her son's friends and acquaintances.
Poor Doc was looking forward to some peace and quiet but instead he ends up finding some friendship. Do these bonds last after Christmas? What other gifts is he given?
Gonzo doesn't get to do a whole lot, but I'd like to see him having more fun and being his weirdest and ebst self!
Due to music rights issues, this one's long been out of print and isn't available legally streaming for free anywhere, so I'm offering a youtube link above. This is the complete broadcast without any of the segments missing, as they were in the official VHS release.
Moonlighting (TV)
Ahh, my beloved, patter-heavy dramady. You could use a million words to describe Moonlighting, but one of those words would never ever be boring. You can twist the genre, break the fourth wall, and give me any and everything, but never, ever make David and Maddie boring! Seriously, I'd like anything from casefic to PWP to AUs to extensions of any of the show's many fantasy sequence episodes for these characters. If you want to fix the mess canon made of David and Maddie, I'm here for it. I'm also dying to see how Herbert and Agnes' marriage works out. What if Maddie hadn't miscarried? How is everyone struggling with the '20's? Bonus points for Agnes answering the phone with a rhyme or two.
Apparently the show is finally being remastered in HD for a streaming release, but since it won't be ready before Yuletide, Have a playlist.
Rhinestone (1984)
I know, I know - it's cheesy but Is still find this movie incredibly charming. I want to know how Nick and Jake's relationship might be all of these years later. What do their careers look like? Do they move or stay in New York City? A soulmate AU would be fun!
I can't find this one on legal streaming OR anywhere else. DVDs are available, however.
