My Interests are still the same! The prompts aren't!! I'm open to any content at all from the wrapping paper, Femmeslash Festivus, Seasons Treatings, Yuleporn and Two for One Challenges!

Calamity Jane (1953)

This movie has all the femmselash and it's a wonderful nostalgic treat for me in general. I want all of the Katie and all of the Calam and all of them being together for this one. Adalaid fascinates me as well, because she's such a phantom figure in the movie and I'd love to see some meat be thrown on her bones.

I desperately want to know more about Adelaid as a person since she's never quite established as a whole human being on-canvas. I can see her stumbling into Deadwood someday and being very, very confused by Katie's charade. Outsider observations of the world there sound like fun!

Otherwise, some good old-fashioned Calam and Katie (or Calam/Katie) would make me happy. Or character studies of Calam and Katie in their youths, or as old-salt types in their 80s still living in Deadwood. A modern AU would be fun too!

Bill & Ted (Movies)

Since I'm looking for nothing but goofy joy this year, I'm asking for a little bit of Bill and Ted. I like a million different things about the whole trilogy, from Bill and Ted's friendship to the time travelling premise to Billie and Thea, who had no right to be as cute as they are. I want family fic, I want teenage goofiness, I want angsty martyrdom (or avoidance of); I want everything!

Bill and Ted palling around doing stuff together - throughout the ages or around San Dimas. Trying to survive as new dads. Falling in love in spite of themselves! Adventuring together and rescuing each other.

Billie and Thea's friendship seems so natural smooth - what do their fights look like? I want to watch them during a typical day. Do they have plans for the future? Where do they end up as adults?

My biggest frustration with this franchise is how thin Joanna and Elizabeth's roles are. They have so much potential and the movies tend to put them in the background. Tell me about them - how they feel about the modern world, their families, their ambitions and dreams. Maybe THEY write a song that gets big together! Maybe they go into business together. Maybe they leave the husbands and kids behind and take on a road trip.

Death and his desire for a big fat bass-centric song delighted me so much during Face the Music. Give me his post Face the Music eternity, or if you like, explain the band's break-up more thoroughly. Him palling around with Billie or Thea would be fun too!

Joan has the chance to thoroughly change her destiny thanks to what she learns in the future. Does she do that? or does she go to her martyrdom? I crackship Joan/Ted (I blame her introductory scene), so I think a romance between them would be fun, but I can also see a queer Joan struggling with her desires, especially when she realizes that the '80's are a (slightly) improved timeplace for queer people.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

One part character study, one part study of the era, one part teen angst saga, I love the pure 80's-ness of the movie but I also want to know how everyone's been doing since they graduated (I blame that charity table reading for stirring up my curiosity). Maybe a highschool reunion happens, or maybe they've all never left California.

How is everyone coping with the death of malls? Did Stacy open up her own shop in one and is she dealing with the economy nosediving? Did Mark finally become his own man and step out of Damone's shadow completely?

Are Stacy and Mark still together? Did they ever go all the way? Do they meet at a reunion and have second thoughts? Are they a bored suburban couple who doesn't understand their own teenage kids, or do they try to be better parents than their own were?

I can imagine Linda being unable to cope with the reality of life as an adult versus being a know-it-all teenager. Or am I wrong, and does she thrive? What does she do for a living? Did she eschew a traditional life for a string of lovers?

Is Jeff still out there catching waves? After the morgue scene I'd always headcanoned that he ended up being a mortician or a medical examiner. Or maybe he became a teacher, inspired by Mr. Hand? How's he coping with the loss of Eddie Van Halen?

Lilies of the Field (1963)

This movie's always been something of a comfort for me and I was surprised and delighted to see it in the tag set this year. A clash and a union of two spirits who become friends, it's a beautiful mediation on faith, dreams and determination.

I need to know that Homer eventually managed to make it into some kind of a position as an architect. Maybe the nuns chip in to send him to school (and manage to track him down, by fate or purpose); maybe he made it via a scholarship of some kind, with the chapel as proof of his talents, or maybe he got in via the GI Bill or made it to Canada and was educated there during Vietnam. Does he have a family, or does he still travel from town to town, building beautiful things and enriching his life and the lives of others before moving on? I need for him to encounter the sisters one more time and for them to see what their work has wrought upon one another, basically.

Mother Mary perhaps has learned to be more directly appreciative of people - how does that show in her treatment of the sisters after the events of the movie? And how do her feelings for God and the church change as time passes? What brought her to the order in the first place?

Everyone celebrating Christmas or Easter together - and exchanging traditions.

Little Women (1994)

I liked the adaption that came out last year, but this still stands as my favorite version of the story.

I want to see Jo succeeding as an author, or balancing Plumfield with writing, with Friedrich being supportive of her choices. How does that change her life, or does it do anything? Do Amy and Laurie get a little angry if she uses Laurie's old infatuation upon him for grist? Or maybe she goes back to write pulp stories and Friedrich is forced (or learns to enthusiastically) to climb upon the proverbial wagon with her?

Amy as an artist - how does she see Laurie through a painter's lens? Does motherhood change how she sees herself and how much time she has to painting? Does she feel guilty about being Aunt March's apparent favorite? Her observations of France and Europe pre-Laurie's arrival.

Beth living - or Coming Back Wrong - and how that effects the family. Maybe she goes off to a music conservatory on Aunt March's dime and sees the world. Or maybe she stays at home and within the house her whole life and is either perfectly content or burns with a need for adventure - does Jo liberate her?

Laurie's observations upon the March girls - and how he feels about his family. Do the rest of his relatives accept Amy (or Jo, or Beth) as warmly as his grandfather does? His daily life - at business, at play, at his studies. A scrape with Jo or Beth in which they must get themselves out of a heap of trouble. Quiet domestic scenes with Amy.

Friedrich is, in spite of himself, bowled over by Jo's presence. How does he fit into the March family? Does he bring Jo back to Germany with him to meet his family? How do they balance running the school with their romantic life? Do his own authorial wishes reach fulfillment?

Marmee is satisfied she's done a good job with her children, but do her passions sometimes force her to wonder if she's done her best work? When her girls are raised, what does she do with her time? Does she devote herself to the church or does she start teaching - or begin traveling thanks to Amy?

My preferred ships are Laurie/Jo/Friedrich, Jo/Friedrich, Laurie/Amy, Jo/OFC or Beth/Laurie.

Moonstruck (1987)

Rounding out this year's choices with a big, heartfelt comedy with lots of passion and zing. I've loved this one since I was a little kid.

I want Loretta to have friends so much. We don't see her socialize with anyone but her family, Ronny and Johnny. She's blossomed in passion, now I'd like to see her meet more people! What drew her to accounting?

I want to see how her relationship with Ronny has continued and (hopefully) blossomed in their later years. Did they have a kid or two, did they adopt some of grandpa's dogs when he passed and are trying to figure out how to raise them, or are they hopelessly wrapped up in one another, going to the opera and eating great food at her family's place between hours at their jobs? I'd love for Loretta to meet Ronny and Johnny's formidable mother, now that she's part of the family.

Ronny learning how to fit in with the traditions of the Castorini clan, or how he got into baking, which feels like a very precise art for someone who's so chaotic. What does his food even taste like? How has his staff reacted to the changes Loretta wrought in his life? What are HIS friends like - he's even more isolated than Loretta!

I just need Rose to break out. Maybe she gets more friends, maybe she finds herself on a cable cooking competition and Cosmo gets jealous but she doesn't care. Is she a good grandma or does her advice scare her grandkids? Or maybe she finds herself breaking out when Grandpa passes and she takes on his dogs.

Ships: Ronny/Loretta

AU Ideas: Someone wrote a great werewolf AU the other year, and that's an idea I can't get enough of for the Castorinis and Camarettis. Also - curses! Ancient curses! Is it just fate that Loretta's first husband died or is it something else, and is fate stalking Ronny?
